Haiti After the Earthquakes
  Suddenly, on January 12, 2010, everything changes. A 35-second earthquake and its aftershocks left devastation and chaos in its wake. Much of Jacmel, part of the southern Haiti and Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas’ infrastructure were significantly damaged or destroyed. Haitian President   Rene Preval   reported on 27 January that "nearly 170,000 bodies had been counted”.
